Reichsgau Wartheland
The area around Poznań/Posen was, until 1918, the Prussian province of Posen and a part of the German Reich. After World War I, it became part of Poland in 1919/20. As a result of the invasion of Poland on October 26, 1939, the province was incorporated into the German Reich. In 1945 it was returned to Poland.
